So that is two machine guns and two lasers in torso locations, matching the four muzzles beneath the cockpit. The first printing´s Timberwolf carried an additional ER Small Laser in its torso, which was then lost after the "let´s-round-XL-and-endosteel"-revision. The "mismatch" of the Timberwolf´s gun barrels is not really a problem. Yet there are no Mk.1-versions for these Mechs, so apparently this artwork-mismatch was acceptable. If the Mad Dog´s and Timberwolf´s launchers are proof for the existence of a set of "original" stats that matched the artwork, then I think the artwork of the lighter Mechs should equally be proof for a "Mk.1 Fire Moth", a "Mk.1 Mist Lynx" etc, which would have to carry some mysterious single-missile type weapon (Arrow IV? NARC?). The Fire Moth, Mist Lynx, Kit Fox, Viper and Ice Ferret all carry missile launchers with only one single tube. Thus I think the OmniMechs with "wrong" launcher sizes could simply be a result of the artist´s taste (the square launchers´ looks are the sole reason why I still prefer the original Timberwolf miniature over the resculpt), and fluff-wise they can be explained the same way as the precedences.Ī strong hint that the OmniMechs do use missile launchers with less tubes than the size would indicate are several of the lighter machines. This is common, though: the original Atlas´ 5-tube LRM-20 comes to mind, as well as the Thunderbolt´s LRM-15 with 9 tubes and the Crusader´s SRM-6es with 3 tubes each. Some are mismatches between missile launchers and the number of visible launch tubes. Then there is the matter of the types of artwork differences. Just look at TR2750, which appeared shortly before TR3050 about every second Mech has artwork errors, many of which were fixed for the miniatures. Personally, I got HM for $13, because I pre-ordered the Season Pass two years ago for $40.Įdit3: the Season Pass is now a 'bundle' - doesn't Steam let you buy a bundle that you already have some of the components, with their price removed? So if you already have the other DLC, check the bundle to see if you can get HM with a 'discount' that way.As Peter Smith said, differences between artwork and stats were common. As opposed to if you bought the Season Pass/bundle during one of the previous sales. So yeah, if you're just trying to buy that one, or if you bought the other DLC piecemeal, you're stuck with $20. Heavy Metal by itself isn't on sale, the other ones and the bundles are. Similarly, people reduced Urban Warfare to "just two mechs?" when it also included the Urban terrain map, more Flashpoints, all the stuff involved in the stray shot system & rebalances to combat & vertical movement, the ECM game mechanics, the enemy tanks, the Attack & Defend mission type, etc.Įdit: and even if people don't want to think about it that way, the DLC money also funds the work that goes into the general patches & 'free' content updates.īut, yeah - the DLC are on sale in a variety of ways right now, so why are you saying "$20"?Įdit2: ah, I see. Even if you don't find value in the other things) (i.e, there's more than "eight mechs" in the DLC. A series of Flashpoint missions forming a single story
